Alpha Rho Tau Scholarship
The ART scholarship process kicks off
in August and is awarded
to the winning student(s) at
the November Member's meeting.
Scholarships
The purpose of the Alpha Rho Tau Art Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to deserving
students who show promise of developing talents in the field of art, and of making future contributions to
the art world. A student must demonstrate a need for financial assistance and have the support of his Art
Department Academic Advisor or Professor to be considered.
Alpha Rho Tau's Scholarship program was begun in recognition of Dr. Adah M. Robinson who founded A.R.T. in 1930 on the University of Tulsa campus as a co-educational honorary art fraternity. An early preference in recipient selection was shown to art students on that campus. The scope was expanded when A.R.T. became a Civic Art Association of Tulsa. Current selection of recipients is not limited to any one (1) group of art students. Disbursement of applications goes to many Educational Institutions in the Greater Tulsa area and State of Oklahoma.
Funding for the scholarship shall come from within A.R.T., through membership participation in fund raising opportunities at monthly meetings, donations, entry fees, and other charitable sources as designated by the organization. Monetary value of the scholarship may vary from year to year, and shall be determined by the Scholarship Committee and the Alpha Rho Tau Civic Art Association Board.
